Answer: Youth Transformation Foundation (YTF) is a non-profit organization helping children in extreme poverty by providing tuition assistance, school supplies, hygiene products, and food. We partner with local schools to provide high quality education to some of Haiti's most disadvantaged children. YTF is on a mission to combat chronic illiteracy in Haiti and providing its youth the right tools to transform their communities and forever change their circumstances. Studies show that Literacy is critical to economic development as well as individual and community well-being. The economy is enhanced when learners have higher literacy levels. Therefore, in order to break the cycle of poverty in the region and to bring about sustainable change, we must aim to improve the literacy skills of the next generation. YTF tackles this challenge by insuring its children have access to clean, safe schools staffed by trained and qualified educators. Together with our partner schools, YTF improves school infrastructure, challenges poverty by creating employment opportunities, provide community development workshops for parents, and provide avenues towards the road to long-term financial independence.
