Answer: WITS is one of only a handful of yeshivas, or Orthodox Jewish high schools and post high schools for boys, in the Midwest, and is the only institution of its kind in Wisconsin. The WITS learning environment is highly disciplined; our structured program keeps students busy up to 14 hours a day. WITS is a Yeshiva High School in Milwaukee. It is an affiliate of the Rabbinical Seminary of America. At the heart of the WITS program is the bais medrash, the room where Torah study takes place. Its sort of a library/study hall/learning center; it is constantly being used. WITS high school students (who comprise the majority of our student body) come and go at varying hours throughout the day as part of their total curriculum. WITS also offers a post-high school beis medrash program, where students focus their studies primarily on Talmud. A number of WITS post-high school students are simultaneously enrolled as college students at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee or Marquette University. Individually, in pairs, or in groups, students and instructors in the beis medrash spend several hours each day studying different areas of the Talmud. By tradition, the discussion and debate is very intense and very stimulating. WITS students are not simply taught book knowledge. They are taught how to question, how to analyze. Literally, how to pursue learning.
