Answer: The non-profit Walsh Research Institute is a 501(c)3 organization founded by William J. Walsh, PhD, an internationally recognized expert on biochemical imbalances. WRI conducts research studies into a range of mental disorders and educates doctors and medical practitioners around the world in advanced drug-free biochemical treatment of these disorders. Dr. Walsh has devoted nearly 40 years to researching the biochemistry behind behavior, learning and memory, mental health and various disease conditions. He developed science-based, advanced nutrient therapies that have helped thousands of patients challenged by behavioral disorders, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, ADHD, autism, and Alzheimers disease, and are used by doctors throughout the world. Current research includes studies of autism brain tissues, the role of epigenetics in mental health, oxidative stress in disease conditions and underlying causes of bipolar disorder. WRI research and treatment approaches are in Dr. Walshs book, Nutrient Power (2012). Our mission is to bring the benefits of advanced biochemical therapy to millions of persons challenged by ADHD, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, clinical depression, behavior disorders, autism, and neurodegenerative disorders. Our primary goals are (a) to gain better understanding of these disorders through scientific research, (b) to develop advanced nutrient therapy protocols, (c) to establish and operate high-quality, reasonably-priced nonprofit clinics, (d) to establish an international physician-training program, and (e) to educate the public and the medical community by preparation of journal articles, books, and participation in technical meetings and conferences.
