Answer: Salvadorian immigrants Napoleon and Lorena Maltez met while working at a bakery shop in Georgetown. As their love for each other grew, so did their passion for quality products and customer service. After working at the Georgetown bakery for almost 14 years, the store had to close its doors down permanently. The store closing was a blessing in disguise when the Maltez family decided to sell everything they owned to now invest in their passion and dream. In 1997 they opened The French Bread Factory located in Tysons Corner with very little to start. Lorena started making cold calls to all the local businesses while her husband was doing all the baking. The family had many sleepless nights to ensure a better life for themselves and children all while doing what they love. Their never say no attitude, quality products, customer service and family atmosphere started to slowly attract more customers as well as big named companies. In 2012, The French Bread had to move into a larger space to accommodate their growing product menu, customer base and production. The familys passion and hard work has now made The French Bread factory a leading wholesale bakery in the greater metropolitan area including Washington D.C, Northern Virginia, Baltimore and Richmond.
