AT THE SANTA FE FARMERS MARKET INSTITUTE WE: Maintain the 20,000 square foot LEED Gold-certified, year-round home to the Santa Fe Farmers Market, as well as several other local businesses, providing economic stability for local farmers and serving as an anchor for economic development of local businesses in the Santa Fe Railyard. In 2022, each week our Railyard markets drew more than 4,000 visitors, representing all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and many foreign countries. Supports the Santa Fe Farmers Markets Del Sur Market located in the Presbyterian Santa Fe Medical Centers parking lot on Becker Road through family-oriented programming and services to address food insecurity on the underserved Southside of Santa Fe. Encourages and supports local producers in the growth of their businesses our Microloan and Training & Professional Development Programs. Whether through easy access to capital to fund farm improvement projects or scholarships to trainings to increase knowledge and capacity, these services contribute to the vitality of our local food system. In 2023, the Institute is launching a Women in Agriculture and Healthy Soils program to further support our local agricultural community. Improves food security in our community with our SNAP matching program, Double Up Food Bucks. In 2021, this program generated nearly $363,000 in sales at the Santa Fe Farmers Market, increasing healthy food access for families in Santa Fe and bringing much needed income to local farmers. This is a 144% increase since 2019. Staffs the Information Booth, the hub of information.
