Answer: Orchard Human Services, Inc. has been an IRS approved nonprofit since 2012. Orchard hosts a powerful internship and professional training and development program for mental health professionals-in-training. We provide practicum and internship placement as well as practice-under-supervision after candidates graduate with a masters or doctorate degree in counseling or therapy. We provide some direct services to children with emotional, behavioral, learning, developmental problems in the Metro Atlanta area. Online consultation and intervention services and support are offered online and by telephone. Our team of specialists provides parent and professional training and support in the areas of child development; child and teen mental health; disorders of attachment development; neurodiversity and Autism spectrum disorder; brain-based strategies to evoke a neuroplastic response - and help children learn and grow; protections for children with disabilities under IDEA and ADA through IEP or Section 504 Plan; developmental approaches to Juvenile Justice engagement of youth; trauma-informed responsiveness. Orchard's founder, Dr. Darleen Claire Wodzenski, has developed an integrated Transtheoretical Model for addressing disorders of attachment and other developmental challenges through a Developmental Framework. Orchard's work is cutting edge, providing much needed support and relief for many children and their families who deal with serious and co-occurring disorders of learning, behavior, mental health, and development.
