NUWAY Alliance was born from a long-standing history embedded in the heart of the Minneapolis recovery community through NUWAY (House), which was founded as a nonprofit in 1966 as one of the first halfway houses in Minnesota and the U.S. NUWAY's grassroots beginnings stemmed from members of the 2218 Alano Society of Minneapolis in response to individuals leaving treatment in the 1960's housing insecure. 2218 members believed extended time in a safe, sober environment based in the community would help individuals establish long-term recovery from addiction. NUWAY Alliance offers specialized management services to help state agencies and independent behavioral healthcare operators maintain treatment access and improve the quality of care. Whether expanding its treatment footprint, acquiring pre-existing provider organizations, or taking a supportive role in the development of new treatment resources, the experienced and multidisciplinary NUWAY Alliance leadership team brings the expertise and resources needed to turn around organization performance, improve treatment delivery, and stabilize financials to maintain or increase access to care.
