Answer: A design consultancy specializing in signage and wayfinding, with an emphasis on environmental brand integration and continuity. I founded this company after owning Lytle Design Associates, a successful design and marketing communications firm for 20 years. In addition to creating mostly brand identity programs and collateral material for our predominant healthcare clientele, in 2000 Lytle Design began designing and managing signage and wayfinding programs for OhioHealth and other healthcare, retail and airport clients. I discovered my interest in signage and wayfinding programs at my previous employer, Degnen Associates. This early experience combined with 33 years in brand identity and implementation created a natural progression to signage, along with the challenge of successfully solving navigational issues at high stress destinations like hospitals and airports. In July 2012 I downsized and founded Jim Lytle Consulting. Instead of focusing on running a larger business, this scaling down allows complete focus on designing and managing signage and wayfinding programs through to punch lists. Doing what I love to do, focusing on the details and making sure the program accomplishes the goal within the allotted time and budget. Depending upon the scale of the project, specialists may be brought in to contribute their expertise to the team, resulting in a quality program solution without the larger hourly rates and excessive overhead of larger firms.
