Answer: The Athletic Director supervises all, interscholastic athletic and physical education/athletic/sports related programs and their respective staff. Responsibilities 1) Recruits, assists in selecting and training, supervises and evaluates the coaching staff. 2) In cooperation with the coaching staff, develops the competitive schedule for boys and girls in the interscholastic athletic programs at the Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Modified levels. 3) In cooperation with the staff and Building Administrators, develops a budget for the total program and assumes responsibility for implementing the budget, including supervision and responsibility for the evaluation and purchase of all supplies and equipment. 4) In cooperation with the staff and Building Administrators, supervises and conducts athletic events, assuming overall responsibility for finances, officials, transportation, crowd control chaperones and security staff, and other related matters. 5) Collaborates with the local officials and boards and arranges with the OCIAA League Office and Section IX for competent officials for all home contests. 6) Arranges for the use of facilities for practices and contests for all competitive teams. 7) In cooperation with the Director of Transportation, arranges and confirms all requests for transportation to away contests. 8) Represents the School District at all directors' meetings, OCIAA League meetings, Section IX meetings, NYSPHSAA state meetings, and other related meetings. 9) In cooperation with the school physician and other medically certified staff, assumes responsibility for Coaching Staff to have updated CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications. 10) Observes and evaluates coaches at both practice sessions and games. Meets with coaches to discuss their assignment and recommended program improvements.
