Answer: The Foster Kids of the Merrimack Valley is focused on developing programs that support the needs of foster children now in the care of the Department of Children and Families (DCF) living in the Merrimack Valley (Lawrence, Methuen, Andover, North Andover, Haverhill). Our focus is to create a positive influence in the lives of foster children in the local area. The organization was founded by Larry Giordano who was raised as a foster child. Abandoned by his mother at the age of five days old, he lived in a foster home until he was 17 where a caring foster family adopted Larry and he took their surname Giordano. Larry's foster experience motivated him to create this organization and find ways to help foster children and let them know their community cares about them.
