Answer: Family Innocence is a non-profit dedicated to keeping families out of court: resolving conflicts and injustices peacefully. It was founded by attorney Michelle MacDonald, who after 25 years of litigating families said enough is enough. The Family Innocence Process ("FIP"), is a unique model involving Family Innocence Advocates, Restorative & Family Circles and Mediation. Separating or separated family members with a conflict can pledge to participate in FIP with or without attorneys, and not to sue each other in court or to suspend an existing lawsuit. Then, data is provided for personalized sessions with a neutral who helps you resolve your own case by agreement (not agreements to court orders). A friendly decision-maker, learned in family law, can provide a binding decision upon impasse. This simple process involves court jurisdiction and court orders only when necessary (ie. To terminate a marriage relationship). Family Innocence is on the Supreme Court Roster, and Rule 114 qualified. Call 651-783-5878 for more information.
