Answer: WE ARE A COMPANY. We are a company of friends and colleagues, fathers and mothers and sons and daughters, investors and supporters, who share a common determination to leave our children and all other beings on earth a world in which they can thrive. We formed as a for-profit, B company instead of a nonprofit company for several reasons. First, we didnt want to depend on donors, nor take scarce climate donor dollars away from others who were perhaps not as able as we are to make a profit. Second, we wanted to become donors ourselves by giving away most of our profits to others who are also working to save the planet but require financial support. Most importantly, we didnt want to have our hands tied by the restrictions the government imposes on nonprofits, most especially restrictions on political activity. The worlds situation is dire, and we need every tool at our disposal to effect change.
