Answer: Chip Theory Games is an independent board game design and publishing firm based out of Plymouth, Minnesota. It is managed by founders Josh and Adam Carlson. Best known for their game Too Many Bones, Chip Theory has used Kickstarter to fund all of their published titles, each with a significant increase in success: - Hoplomachus: The Lost Cities - Hoplomachus: Rise of Rome - Hoplomachus: Origins - Too Many Bones - Triplock -Game to Pick a Game - Too Many Bones: Undertow - Cloudspire The Hoplomachus line of games was famously named Ricky Royal's (Box of Delights) favorite solo gaming series. Using that success as a springboard, the company launched their Kickstarter for Too Many Bones in March of 2016, where it raised over a quarter of a million dollars. Triplock is Chip Theory's gateway game that packs a lot of content into a small game at a lower price point! As with all of Chip Theory's titles, Triplock has a strong solo play option along with its head-to-head to play. Chip Theory is known for their high-end premium components. The company eschews the typical cardboard pieces of other games in favor of neoprene mats. Cards are made of PVC plastic for long lasting durability. Most in-game units are represented by top of the line 11.5g poker chips with a water resistant foil hard-top sticker. Too Many Bones, a game with over 135 dice in the base box, uses custom heat transfer imaging for durability and vivid visual impact. Great care is given to the design of all box inserts, incorporating space for future expansions and never requiring the purchase of additional organization accessories. Chip Theory customers and backers know to expect fantastic customer service, detailed and transparent Kickstarter updates, free surprise upgrades whenever possible, and above all, a company that truly engages with and values their voices as gamers.
