Founded in 1996, Architreasures was formed by architects and members of community development organizations who recognized the urgent need for Chicago communities to organize, build capacity, and participate in the redevelopment of their neighborhoods. They understood that when people are involved in making decisions about their own surroundings, they have a greater connection and sense of respect for what's around them. Architreasures engages residents and partnering organizations in creative endeavors that improve public space and advance the social, cultural, economic, and health goals of a community.
