Answer: Yoga Day is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 2012 by Carlos Gomez to bring the powerful physical, mental and emotional health benefits of practicing yoga into San Antonio's undeserved communities. Our mission is to IMPROVE LIVES THROUGH YOGA. In 2016 we taught yoga classes and workshops to over 4500 people in public schools, senior centers, city parks, community centers, and hospitals. With the support of generous donors and grants we continue growing and increasing our impact. Since 2015 most of our efforts are focused on incorporating yoga into the school environment. Whether its substituting PE for a yoga class, after school yoga classes, "Yoga in School" workshops for teachers, or organizing community events where the whole family comes together to practice yoga, we strongly believe that yoga can have a significant positive impact in students' academic life.
