Answer: Founded in 2002, WrightChoice, Inc. is a 5013 non-profit organization designed to promote and facilitate internship opportunities to under-represented populations in the employment arena. Our mission is "Building a bridge between resource and opportunity for minority students and students with disABILITIES." The philosophy of this organization is "bridging the gap" between educated, diverse students and businesses by leveraging internships as the point of entry. WC has an annual budget of $228,870 from federal, public and private sources. WC constantly pursues other funding opportunities to sustain and grow its programs. Since the summer of 2003, WC's Internship Program has placed over 200 students in internships yielding a 93% retention rate. Currently, WC's primary audience is college students, both traditional and non-traditional minority and/or students with disabilities, regardless of income. WC's experience and capacity stems from operating programs such as our internship program , Pre-Professional Law Program, Project REACH, and Summer YouthWorks, and all have produced real outcomes as a result of our collaboration and partnerships with Central Ohio employers. WC has expanded its scope of services to include low-income young adults, ages 18-24, who are either high school graduates and/or post-secondary graduates seeking to increase their work readiness skills, provide career exploration in high demand industries and provide paid internships with established partnerships.
