Answer: Wicker Park Lutheran Church (WPLC) is a diverse Christian community focused on expansive theology. The congregation is comprised of people from most life stage, multiple races, single/married/divorced, gay/straight/lesbian/queer, seekers/lifelong-Lutherans and many more. On each Sunday at 10 a.m. we gather together as a community to worship with traditional liturgy and sermons that are described as deep, accessible, and that touch on life's experiences. During service, we offer Sunday School for school-aged children and also a staffed nursery. Service in the community by feeding the homeless with The Night Ministry is an ongoing focus. We host fun community-wide social events like "Arts Sanctuary" where music, art, food, and community come together. Our commitment to eco theology is lived out in many ways like our worm composting bins and our garden. Our newest Bible study series, called "Brew & Bible," involves brewing beer together and a Bible story, relating them based on both of their flavor profiles. Our beautifully restored sanctuary is always open for weddings and baptisms regardless of membership status. WPLC welcomes, affirms, and includes all people.
