Whitney Plantation offers guided and self-guided tours of the 250-year old plantation property, which includes original slave cabins, an 18th century Big House and barn, and numerous dependencies. Four memorials built on the site name and honor people who were enslaved in Louisiana. The Visitor Center features a permanent exhibit about the history of slavery in southeastern Louisiana.
