Answer: Our Mission: Is to serve individuals and families (our "Neighbors") in crisis to meet their basic needs and provide opportunities for self sufficiency. We welcome all who enter our doors as equals, respecting their dignity and accepting without judgment. We encourage those we serve to develop their capacity for independence. We are thrifty with our resources, generous in our hospitality, and responsible to the communities that we support. One of our principle activities is the Fruit of the Vine (FOTV) food shelf. As one of Minnesotas largest single-location food shelves, FOTV provides emergency hunger relief and basic needs services to thousands of neighbors in the nine county Twin Cities area ... with a focus on Dakota County. While our core is food and basic needs relief, our efforts extend beyond hunger by engaging, educating and empowering our neighbors to achieve economic self sufficiency and their potential to thrive in life. Included in our service activities are: Social Services, Employment Services, Senior Services, Emergency Assistance, and Literacy (ESL courses). Our Vision is to assist our beneficiaries (we call them "Neighbors") from crisis, to rebuilding, to wholeness, stability and self-sufficiency.
