Answer: Video Technics, founded in 1987, was a product development company focused on a spectrum of broadcast television and new media markets. Video Technics introduced their first clipstore / stillstore server, the AprisaTM product line in 1997 (sold exclusively world-wide through Chyron Corporation), introduced their next-generation, HD-capable ApellaTM Video Server debuted in 2000, and they launched their first collaborative production, MOS-based system called NewsFlowTM at KLRT in Little Rock, Arkansas in 2004. Citadel Communications Ltd. deployed WorkFlow COMPLETETM, VTs master control server and automation solution, group-wide in 2010. Video Technics delivers scalable, affordable, and robust products that are ideal for a wide variety of uses in the television industry. The Apella, VTs last IT-based video server product line, offered an unprecedented amount of functionality right out of the box for an impressive price. Not only could the Apella be a simple VTR replacement, Video Technics developed extensive software around this core server product to facilitate end-to-end workflow for live, MOS-based news production and automated master control playout. A new bundled channel-in-a-box hybrid system for broadcast television was introduced at NAB 2012. Its called hybrid because it can work completely standalone, like most channel-in-a-box solutions, or it can easily integrate into existing infrastructures leveraging best-of-breed and legacy equipment by using traditional automation interfaces. Since 2001, there have been approximately 100 sites installed, over 700 channels of video server sold, and over 1200 seats of software installed around the world. The ApellaTM Video Server was a mature and robust product that had been field-proven in many different mission-critical applications.
