Answer: Veteran Companion Animal Services is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving veterans and military families in central Ohio. The mission of VCAS is to enrich the lives of veterans, military families and dogs through the many benefits of the human-animal bond. VCAS fulfills its mission through a rescue dog placement program and a dog training program. In the placement program, VCAS selects a rescue dog based on the veteran's needs and covers all costs for the dog for the first year. In the training program, VCAS organizes and hosts a free 7-week dog training class with a professional trainer for veterans and military families that received a dog and also for those that currently own a dog.
