Answer: We started Vail athletics to make a change in the normal way we think of performance for athletes. Roman Brown, our founder and majority owner was a D1 college athlete. He clearly saw an advantage and a change in his performance when he was at his best physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally. He believed this gave him an advantage in his performance vs some of his teamates and other athletes. He believed he was able to get more out of his ability when he focused on this wholistic approach. As he transitioned out of athletics he saw the way these intangible qualities allowed him to succeed at other areas of his life and not just athletics. Roman had a vision to help other athletes take this same approach. He decided to partner with Candace Caskey who is now the Co-owner of Vail athletics, and who has spent some time working in sports as an athletic trainer who was passionate about working with athletes. She helped Roman clarify his vision and helped form what is now known as Vail Athletics through her expertise in PR/branding and operations. Together they formed Vail athletics to challenge not just athletes but every person to take an wholistic approach in their daily lives.
