Answer: United Coalition for Animals (UCAN) is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded in 2001 to provide high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter services to prevent the unnecessary deaths of healthy and treatable homeless dogs and cats in shelters in Southwest Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southeastern Indiana. UCAN's spay/neuter clinic opened in April 2007, and has since completed over 65,000 sterilization surgeries. The clinic serves 28 counties of Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana surrounding the tri-state Greater Cincinnati area. It remains the regions only nonprofit clinic that provides low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter services for both dogs and cats. Through the clinics transport program, pet owners in rural areas have access to affordable spay/neuter surgeries. There is no charge for the transport service. UCAN specifically targets low-income communities in order to reach those companion animals which are the least likely to be spayed or neutered and assists shelters and animal rescue groups. UCAN's vision is a world where every cat and dog lives to find a loving forever home.
