The Union County Health Department (UCHD) was created in 1919 in response to the 1918 flu pandemic. Today, the Union County Health Department is made up of four divisions: Nursing, Environmental Health, Health Education, and Administration/Vital Statistics. UCHD's main functions are to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, promote health and well-being, and assist in healthy development.
