Answer: Turner Seed is a one-stop source for native & improved grasses, wildlife, wildflower and field seed. In 1961, Bob Turner started Turner Soil Conservation Service, a dozer business that specialized in applying conservation practices to the land. Bob became interested in the different grasses that are used for pastures and fields and in 1974, started helping a friend harvest Kleingrass 75 with his homemade brush sweeper. This was the beginning of Bob Turner Seed Co. The seed company grew when Bob's son Darcy graduated from Texas A&M in 1978 with a B.S in agronomy. Darcy has since expanded the business in wildlife and wildflower areas. J Mercer joined the company in 1985. He is now in sales and consulting. If you have a question, need some advice or want to know prices, J will be glad to help. Bob's daughter, Julie Turner Calkins, graduated in 1985 from Tarleton State University, joined the company in 1988, and is now the office manager.
