Answer: We founded Trust Analytics Group upon the premise that nonprofit institutions that actively manage their beneficial interests in outside managed charitable trusts (external endowments) will receive greater financial support and flexibility from these important assets. WHAT WE DO: We help large national charities understand the fiduciary issues that impact their beneficial interests in all types of charitable trusts. Our cross-disciplinary approach enables us to view issues from multiple perspectives and to find innovative solutions to problems which arise in the day-to-day administration and investment of charitable trusts. HOW WE DO IT: We provide External Endowment Monitoring Programs (E2MPs) for our clients through which we monitor investment performance, transactional activity and tax compliance. Currently, our E2MPs monitor more than 1,500 charitable trusts which collectively hold almost $2.6 billion in assets. These trusts include private foundations, supporting organizations, charitable remainder trusts, charitable lead trusts and charitable remainder annuity trusts, among others. These trusts range in value from the hundreds of thousands of dollars to the hundreds of millions of dollars. Our objective is to increase investment returns by 1-2% annually, terminate noneconomic trusts and ensure distributions are fair and reasonable.
