Answer: LENTECHS, LLC is commercializing a novel, patented; upper-lid suspended; progressive addition; soft contact lens that delivers true single vision correction of distance, intermediate and near vision. This product ends nearly 50 years of frustration that Eye Care Professionals (ECPs) have had with inadequate bifocal contact lenses. In the US there are some 9 million currently dissatisfied presbyopic contact lens wearers, and an additional 114 million presbyopes, would benefit from APIOC-PTM . A recent publication demonstrated that 70% of presbyopes indicated that they would prefer contacts to their spectacles. Technology: The LENTECHS contact lens design provides the first and only upper-lid suspended, progressive additon, soft contact lens that is comfortable and provides true vision correction for presbyopia. The patented contact lens design embodies two key proprietary features that maintain rotational stability for the contact lens in every eye position. More specifically, the contact lens stays in the same position, as the wearer moves their eye from straight ahead gaze (for distance focus) to down gaze (for near focus), resulting in clear, crisp corrected vision just like a pair of bifocal spectacles.
