Answer: Founded in 2017 by sommeliers Jayme Henderson and Steve Steese, The Storm Cellar is a boutique winery in Hotchkiss, Colorado, which produces high-quality, high-elevation, aromatic white and rose wines, farmed and crafted by the hands of this husband-and-wife team. The Storm Cellar aims to showcase the attributes of Colorados unique terroir, to help bring the West Elks AVA into the national wine spotlight, and to become a premier destination for an elevated, Colorado wine experience. Since releasing their first wines in 2019, Jayme and Steve were featured in a cover story for the Wall Street Journal, featured in Wine Spectator, filmed by both PBS and the John Deere corporation, and selected as the first Colorado winemakers to represent the beverage component of the Colorado FIVE culinary team three years in a row. The Storm Cellar received the award for Best Winery by the editors of 5280 magazine in their 2019 Top of the Town awards and has earned medals in numerous wine competitions, including double-gold medals in the 2019 Colorado Governors Cup wine competition, the 2020 American Fine Wine Competition, and the 2020 San Francisco International Wine Competition.
