Answer: The Prosperity Center provides building blocks that create change for generations. Our mission is to provide disadvantaged individuals with the opportunity to develop on-going economic stability for themselves, their families and their community. The program offered through The Prosperity Center is a Microenterprise Development Course that was incubated for the last three years at another Orange County non-profit organization. Our goal is to help those with limited resources to explore the power of small business ownership and it's power to transform lives. We believe that entrepreneurship leads to prosperity not only for the business owner, but their family and community, though increased self-esteem, self-empowerment, decreased dependence on public benefits, increased household income, increase tax revenue, and the creation of more jobs. The Prosperity Center operated as a fiscally sponsored project of One OC from 2012 to 2014. Due to limited funding and the need to the only staff member to move out of state, the organization was closed.
