General Information The Mending Shed is a thriving small business, with a strong belief in not wasting. Craig Palmer founded The Mending Shed back in 1971 as a repair shop for household appliances. With a love of tinkering, and the help of his new wife they opened the doors for The Mending Shed on June 16th 1971. It originally started out as a one room shed, located on State Street in Orem, Utah.
