Answer: The non-profit German American Trade Association was founded 17 years ago to provide sales support and protection against liability in the U.S. for German business and trade associations. We are dedicated to share transatlantic knowledge and foster networking based on current needs of German and American businesses, and constantly improve and expand our services. We offer advice and support from site selection to funding, finding agents, representatives & distributors, customs issues and trade fairs. We address your questions in regards to product liability, transfer pricing, employment, contract risk management and corporate governance and other areas. Support is provided primarily through our management meetings, which are offered several times a year in Europe and the US. However, we also answer specific questions by telephone or email and, if necessary, provide you with the relevant experts in the USA. Due to the different thematic contents, we have divided the USA seminars into two groups: For businesses looking to enter the US market, the US ENTRY Meeting covers all areas of practical relevance. These include topics such as company founding, grants, funds, possible advantages of incorporating in Delaware, practical aspects such as bank account and sales structure, and topics in Employment Law. For companies that have already established a U.S. subsidiary, our Executive Management Meeting (EMM) offers up-to-date information about how the U.S. subsidiary can perform correctly (keyword: Corporate Governance) and provides an overview of all US business-related issues and current framework, including their latest developments. The EMMs also help to protect the U.S. subsidiary from personal liability by adequately training its executives in the operational areas in which they will bear management responsibility (keyword: liability penetration; Veil Piercing). These meetings are aimed exclusively at executives and require prior knowledge of the subject matter.
