Answer: Founded in 2014, The Fund for People in Parks provides private funding and professional services to complete inspirational projects that enhance the visitor experience in western National Parks. To date, we've given $2.3 million in grants for 86 projects in 32 parks. The Fund is guided by a diverse group of park support leaders with extensive experience working with the National Park Service in a wide variety of parks and with a broad range of park support groups. The Fund receives its non-profit status by operating as a project of Community Initiatives, a 501(c)(3) organization based in Oakland that provides fiscal sponsorship to nearly 100 selected public benefit organizations.
