Answer: Our company manufactures sliced and rotary hardwood veneer. We were founded in 1914 by George E. Tomlinson, the great-grand father of our current owners. Until Mr. Tomlinsons death in 1953, the company (called The George E. Tomlinson Co. at the time) manufactured hardwood lumber, tobacco hogsheads and Tomlinson Takedown banquet tables. Following Mr. Tomlinsons death in 1953 his grandson, Gene Freeman, took over the business and expanded the company by adding the export of walnut veneer logs and then building his own hardwood sliced veneer production facility in 1967. In 1982 Mr. Freemans two sons, Reid and George Freeman, joined the business. In 1990 a rotary veneer operation was added. Throughout the past 25 years, the company has constantly reinvested back into its operations and has now expanded to encompass a 44 acres site with over 6 acres under roof. Our products are sold throughout the United States and to customers in over 20 other countries. Typical customers are manufacturers of office furniture, doors, 4x8 panel producers, kitchen cabinet and residential furniture manufacturers, as well as sales to custom millwork businesses. In addition, our rotary veneer products can be found in engineered flooring for most of the major manufacturers.
