Answer: The Community Crossing (CCX), formerly known as McDowell Mission, is an independent, non-profit, multi-faceted local ministry and our number one goal is to seek out where God is working and to join Him in it. McDowell County, West Virginia is one of the poorest counties in the US, left devastated by the decline of the coal mining industry. Partnering with YouthWorks we host short-term mission teams to minister in the community through our home repair program, serve families with an in-home education program for parents of children from birth to 5 years old, and have youth athletic programs in the community. We also engage the local residents in our missional communities, with a focus on discipleship.
