Answer: The Charlotte Collegiate Institute is a Regional Program under the umbrella of the Institute for Responsible Citizenship. The Institute for Responsible Citizenship is a two summer development and leadership program located in Washington D.C. In 2016, with the support of the John M. Belk Endowment, the Institute for Responsible Citizenship launched a pilot regional project in Charlotte, North Carolina, which would ultimately be called the "Charlotte Collegiate Institute." The Charlotte College Institute selects Charlottes best and brightest African American male college students to participate in the program. The program runs the entire academic year, including the Fall and Spring semesters. As a part of the program, CCI Scholars participate in various leadership and development seminars two Saturdays each month. In addition, CCI Scholars participate in volunteer activities in the community as well as social activities. The most important part of CCI is the brotherhood formed among the CCI Scholars. CCI at the core is more than just a professional network, but rather CCI is a family.
