Locally owned and managed, the non-profit Broadmoor World Arena and the attached World Arena Ice Hall regularly host sporting events, concerts, family shows, banquets, trade shows, graduations, religious rallies and civic events. With 8,000 seats, The Broadmoor World Arena is large enough to host world-class events in an intimate setting. The Broadmoor World Arena also manages the Pikes Peak Center in downtown Colorado Springs. Built by the citizens of El Paso County in 1982 to serve as a regional entertainment and cultural center, the Pikes Peak Center was planned as a part of the economic revitalization strategy for the downtown business district. Since its opening, the Pikes Peak Center has achieved international acclaim for its design and acoustical qualities. Artists and critics alike have been lavish in their praise of the Center. The Center hosts in excess of 200 performances annually.
