Answer: Welcome to The Autism Group, a Maidenhead based charity committed to supporting and enhancing the lives of young people on the spectrum, their parents, and carers. We are a small team of professionals with many years experience of working in the autism field. Our focus is on offering support and social opportunities primarily for those of secondary school age and over, together with parent support and training. Our free parent training sessions are delivered by qualified team members who are also parents of young people on the spectrum, and are offered at a variety of venues and times to make them as accessible as possible. We also offer training packages to help those working in the wider community to enhance their practice. These include our unique Autism in an HourTM session which delivers essential information to time pressed professionals. We have met some amazing young people, parents, carers, families and friends through our clubs, training sessions, parent chats, home visits and fundraising events since we registered as a charity in April 2016. We understand and accept the unique characteristics and attributes of young people on the spectrum and offer a warm welcome and support to them, their families and carers in all our activities. If you are parenting, caring, living, or working with someone on the autism spectrum take a look at what we have to offer.
