This building, opened in September of 1940, is a beautiful example of the art-deco architecture of the time, and served as Houston's only airport terminal until 1954. Today, it has been partially restored and houses many years of airline and civil aviation memorabilia. The 1940 Air Terminal Museum is a project of the Houston Aeronautical Heritage Society, a 501(c)(3) Texas Non-Profit Corporation.
