Answer: TerraSearch Geophysical regularly conducts surveys for a wide range of archaeological and historic preservation projects. We specialize in non-invasive remote sensing techniques that include Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), magnetometer, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), and LiDAR surveys, as well as minimally invasive surveys such as terrestrial and underwater coring. Surveys we have completed include cemetery investigations for marked and unmarked graves and remote sensing of known archaeological sites to detect cultural features, which are the non-portable remnants of past behavior. These include surficial features such as stone walls, roads, or buried features such as historical houses and associated structural remnants and pre-contact features such as hearths, storage pits, or house features. We also specialize in characterizations of landforms, archaeological sites, or cultural features using minimally invasive techniques such as terrestrial and underwater coring, and paring sedimentary analyses with geochemical investigations (such as portable X-Ray Fluorescence and Inductively Coupled Mass Spectrometry). Each of these surveys are conducted in compliance with all federal, state, and local rules and regulations that guide activities associated with cultural resources. We have particular experience conducting remote sensing surveys that comply with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. TerraSearch Geophysical primarily conducts work in the Northeastern United States, but regularly partner with other companies to complete work throughout the United States. Our staff are highly trained archaeologists with specialized geoarchaeology, geophysical, and geochemical experience, and we are dedicated to providing our clients with high-quality consulting services that are tailored to individual client and regulatory needs.
