Answer: Students for a New American Politics (SNAP) PAC is a federal PAC dedicated to training tomorrow's political leaders while we elect today's outstanding progressive candidates. OUR FELLOWS Each election cycle, SNAP recruits outstanding students and young people from around the country to serve as Organizing Fellows. Fellows receive intensive training, then work for 10 to 12 weeks in the summer months as full-time Field Organizers for progressive candidates for Congress. After the Fellowship, many SNAP alumni continue as exceptional progressive organizers. Some serve in government, while others are leading in the labor movement or excelling as campaign staff across the country. Since 2006, SNAP has sponsored 55 summer Organizing Fellows. OUR CANDIDATES SNAP makes the best use of our resources by endorsing only the most competitive progressive candidates for Congress each cycle. Since 2006, SNAP has endorsed over 30 candidates. Our endorsements are non-partisan and are based on candidates’ on-the-record positions on key progressive issues like economic and tax policy, workers’ rights, affordable and accessible health care, criminal justice, energy, the environment, reproductive freedom and LGBTQ rights. OUR RESOURCES SNAP is a federal PAC, registered with the FEC, which operates under the control of an all-volunteer staff of dedicated student activists. Because of this structure, on average SNAP spends 96% of our budget directly on supporting Organizing Fellows in the field.
