Answer: St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) of Appleton's mission is to promote systemic change that will ultimately reduce poverty and eradicate its root causes. Our staff and volunteers create social cohesion by meeting families where they are in an effort to provide face-to-face services that empower people on their path toward self-sufficiency. This is part of how we embody Vincentian values of giving voice to the voiceless and promoting a just, equitable society. While many community members just know of us as a thrift store, SVdP works with more than 40 local agencies to fill gaps in services available to people struggling to meet basic needs. Our services fall into three key program areas: the Bed Program, Next Step, and the Voucher Program.
