Answer: Our Story Southern Belles Cakery was formed in 2010. However, to better understand the roots of SBCakery, we have to start the story way back to when owner, Jamie was a little girl. EARLY YEARS Jamie grew up in Mobile, Alabama and just like any other southern girl: cooking and baking in her family's kitchen. Luckily for Jamie, she learned to cook and bake in her great grandmothers kitchen, who she called "Sissy". Jamie and Sissy formed an amazing and close relationship, one that Jamie cherishes and one that not too many get to have with their great grandmother. SOUTHERN BELLE Sissy was what you would call a true Southern Belle. She loved to cook and everything revolved around what we goin cook, Suga, as she would say. Sissy was full of life, always making everyone laugh and always making her way around the kitchen to bake something up! Sissy taught Jamie so much at an early age about school, life, relationships, and most of all her way around the kitchen. Southern Belles Cakery formed out of that precious bond and love for cooking that Jamie shared with her Sissy. LOVE FOR BAKING Though Sissy is no longer with us, Jamie feels her warmth, love, and presence every day. No matter what cake is baking, the whole kitchen always smells of one of Sissy's cakes. Her memory keeps Jamie's passion alive and the love for "Sissy Cake" is vastly growing into a household name! So everyday we are baking in memory of Sissy, and thats where Southern Belles Cakery comes from.
