Answer: SERG is a research group with a primary focus on native habitat research and restoration. Over the years we have worked with numerous Federal, State, and Local agencies, on public and privately held lands, as well as collaborating with various firms in the private sector. SERG operates under the umbrella of the San Diego State University (SDSU) Research Foundation; a 501 (c)(3) non-profit auxiliary organization chartered to further the educational, research, and community service objectives of San Diego State University. In the past it has been our privilege to provide services that promote native ecosystem resiliency, native habitat restoration and conservation, climate change adaptation, and community-based scientific involvement. There are currently active projects with the U.S. Navy in Coronado and San Clemente Island, a private ranch in Santa Ysabel, and City of San Diego land in Alvarado Creek. Our goals moving forward are to continue to develop and diversify our services and our client and partnership base. We aim to provide ethical, community-centered restoration science in a way that respects the land, the people, and future generations of San Diego. SERG is invested in training young scientists and promoting environmental stewardship in the San Diego community through outreach and engagement. Our staff is comprised largely of recent graduates entering the field of conservation at the beginning of their professional careers. We often employ student interns from SDSU, who later move on to work with us full-time after graduation.
