SLO Regional Rideshare's primary role is to reduce the reliance upon single occupancy vehicles within the region. This entails outreach, marketing, and programs meant to increase the publics awareness, support, participation, and use of alternative transportation. We support all transportation needs of the community, including: youth, able-bodied adults, mono-lingual Spanish speakers, those persons with limited mobility, and seniors. Our programs include: Safe Routes to School: Cycling and walking advocacy for elementary through high school students Back N Forth Club: Commuter focused outreach and support Mobility Management: Outreach, education, and travel training to increase mobility for mono-lingual Spanish speakers, persons with limited mobility, and seniors 511: Telephone and online service for up-to-date information on road conditions, public transportation, ridesharing, and much more Emergency Ride Home: Free or low-cost ride home in cases of emergency for employees who use sustainable transportation Our annual campaigns include: Rideshare Month Bike Month Youth Ride Free Some of our services include: Creating an environment for people to easily access transportation information Developing incentives to encourage people not to drive alone Reducing barriers to using alternative transportation choices Providing transportation information in more convenient and useful formats Developing materials for target audiences and geographic areas Participating in community events Presenting and conducting extensive research Developing programs that target specific audiences
