Over the last eighteen (26) years, SETT has learned significant lessons about what works in prevention among high-risk youth. SETT has educated and trained over 3,500 peer educators, given more than 1000 performance awareness sessions, conducted some 1500 workshops, and sent the prevention/intervention creed to a documented 500,000 diverse audience of youth, parents and others from the minority population and beyond. Emphasizing alternative choices to alcohol and drug use, SETT helps establish positive self-images, promotes academic achievement and teaches a collective community value system as an effective approach to helping high-risk youth.
