Answer: Seminole Science Charter School (SSCS) is a tuition-free, STEM-focused, public charter school that has been serving Seminole County in Central Florida since 2015. In 2018, SSCS became a high performing charter school and achieved accreditation by AdvancED's Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS-CASI). As part of the Orlando Science School system, SSCS offers a well-rounded curriculum aligned with Florida Standards and Next Generation Florida State Standards taught in an intimate learning environment with emphasis on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Additionally, they believe in giving back through community service and frequent volunteering, as well as by hosting fundraisers and organizing collections for local charities. Beyond academic excellence in the classroom, the school offers many social and recreational opportunities that create a close-knit student body. Students participate and compete on local and national levels in a variety of extra-curricular activities ranging from Science Olympiad and robotics to drama and chorus. All efforts are focused toward meeting the Vision of the school which is to empower all students with a STEM education which will help guide them to a promising and successful career.
