Answer: The Self Storage Association of South Carolina Inc., a non-profit organization was formally reorganized 2012. The original purposes of the Association were outlined as follows: To unite the membership in a non-for-profit association of persons, partnership, corporations, limited liability companies, real estate investment trusts and other entities actively engaged in or interested in, the self storage business. To develop and encourage high standards of business conduct by those engaged in the self storage industry. To develop through research, discussion and exchange of information, better standards for the development and operation of self storage facilities. To provide a forum for the education of association members, self storage owners/operators and of the general public. To provide opportunities for members to increase their knowledge of self storage business and to improve their individual capabilities. To provide leadership on issues of concern to members of the Association. To do any and all things that are lawful and appropriate to further these purposes which are found necessary or convenient as permitted by the laws of the State of South Carolina.
