Answer: Scandic Builders was founded in 2000 by Mads and Sari Jepsen and expanded in 2003, with the addition of Mads' brother, Kimo Jepsen. As a family-run business, we pride ourselves on our strong Scandinavian heritage. Our family emigrated from Denmark to the U.S. in 1987, and we have since spent time studying and working both the U.S. and Europe. After permanently relocating to the States in the 1990s, we found a unique opportunity to combine our knowledge of American and Scandinavian home building and renovation. We believe in quality, environmentally-conscious building that will last generations. In the past decade, Scandic has continued to grow. In 2013, the Jepsen family acquired and renovated a restaurant that is now named Washington House, located in downtown Basking Ridge, NJ. Washington House has become a local culinary destination known for our commitment to exceptional food, seasonal ingredients and gracious service & hospitality.
