Answer: The whole idea for these slides started in 1998, as I was looking for a different tone than I was getting from all the other slides that I had. Like most slide players, I had all kinds of slides (glass, steel, copper, brass, ceramic, even an old ham bone). They all had their use, but what I really wanted, in the back of my mind, was a cross between glass (for the volume) and ceramic (for the warm-brightness). At the time my father, who is a potter, was working with a "black" Colorado clay. I wondered what a slide made from that material would sound like. Almost a thousand proto-types later, in 2002 I got the sound that I was hearing in my head! The first slide (The Blues Boy) that I made was a hybrid, light weight slide that actually has more volume than glass, yet gives you that ceramic warmth. Later, I talked with customers and other players that wanted me to produce a beefier slide. That's when I produced my second slide (The Salidan). All of my slides are hand made and finished in a special "high fire" or the low fire glazes (Bayou Blue, Mojo Green, Hellhound Red and Voodoo Black ) and although each is unique in itself, they all have a consistent "RMS tone" that has made my slides like no other!!! In 2006 we started expanding into tone bars as well as our ever expanding family of finger slides, and hope to never feel the need to stop being innovative...always striving to be better!! The first two models of my slides are made for quick pick up and quick release, but our family of slides has grown far beyond those. Since 2002, we have strived to always offer a better and more unique family of slides and tone bars to the questing slider...
