Answer: Re:new is a faith-based, Christian, nonprofit organization that serves refugee women resettled in and around DuPage County, Illinois. We exist to meet two needs of our refugee neighbors: provide a safe community and empoyment. We achieve this by offering free sewing and ESL classes in a safe and welcoming environment to refugee women in our county. Once they graduate, and if they meet the required criteria, we hire the students to become paid Artisans of Re:new. Here, they are empowered through fair wage employment, partake in continued ESL lessons, paired with a Godly mentor to explore faith and dreams, access to auxiliary funding for unexpected needs, and a loving environment to prepare for their next career step. Using upcycled textiles, our team of volunteers, staff, and Artisans collaborates to design and market beautiful handcrafted products as we create a space for refugee women to thrive. #upcycledfashion, #artisanmade, #wewelcomerefugees
